After the Summer Update in Grow a Garden, several new crop mutations were introduced.
These are special effects that apply to your crops and increase their base selling value.
Each mutation is triggered under different conditions, such as weather events, using the Nectar Staff, or other special gear.
Every mutation gives a specific multiplier, and sometimes, multiple mutations like Disco, Pollinated, or Alienlike can apply to a single crop at once.

Verdant Mutation was added to Grow a Garden during the Summer Update on June 21, 2025.
This mutation boosts a crop’s base value by 4x.
It can only be applied by the Legendary pet, Scarlet Macaw, which is obtained by hatching a Paradise Egg. The pet’s passive ability says:
“Every 11 minutes and 51 seconds, it has a 15.95% chance to apply the Verdant mutation to a nearby fruit.”
As the Scarlet Macaw gets older, the chance to trigger the mutation increases.
