How to do Return of the River in God of War Ragnarok(GWR)

In this guide, we will tell you how to complete Return of the River in God of War Ragnarok. Return of the river is a side quest in God of War Ragnarok which is very important because if you don’t complete this quest then you won’t be able to complete certain quests when you move ahead in the game.

When you come over to the forest area and you complete this quest you will actually be able to flood the crater which in turn will allow to access areas which you could not access before.

How to complete Return of the River in God of War Ragnarok

Return of the river is started automatically when approaching the dam in the jungle in VANAHEIOM.

Kratos will get 500 XP and Atreus will get 125 XP once you complete this side favor. Some Gulons will come in your way, and you will have to defeat them to get to the dam.

Then you will come to a point where you will find a way to a wheel that will open a gate.

However, you will not be able to open the gate because of some obstruction. There will be red vines on both sides of the wheel that you will have to remove to destroy the vines.

You have to shoot the red vines with the Sigil arrows of Atreus and then burn them with Kratos’ Blades of Chaos.

Then you can use the wheel to open the lever. When you get to the top, you will have to defeat some enemies once again. Now, how to complete Return of the river in God of War?

Then you will see some cracks in the dam and they will be glowing. Detonate them with your Draupnir.

Then you will have to clear some more vines as you did before. After that you will encounter Nokken and Seidr, and defeat them both.
