The Fortress is a huge flying machine that drops pink fireballs from the sky. Because of the gigantic size of Fortress, you might think this battle is going to be difficult. However, that’s not the case. This battle is a fairly easy one, and it is possible to defeat this mini boss in one attempt itself.
Steps to beat fortress enemy in Sonic Frontiers
When the fight begins with the Fortress, you will see the big flying machine dropping bombs (fireballs) from the sky. A red marker will appear telling you where the fireball is going to land. At this point, you will not be able to engage with the guardian. Your only choice will be to dodge these fireballs so that they don’t deal any damage to Sonic.

At first, the Fortress Guardian will be flying higher in the sky. However, after a while, it will start to fly lower and closer to the ground. The Fortress craft will start leaving some trails behind itself. You need to jump on these trails and ride them.
The trails will be dark blue but after a while, you will start seeing light neon blue trials as well. These neon trails will give you a speed boost, so ride them instead.
After you start riding these trails, the Fortress will start to shoot small pink balls along these trails. To beat fortress enemy in Sonic Frontiers, your goal is to avoid and dodge these pink balls by jumping onto other rails. When you get close enough to the fortress a platform will appear and you will get a chance to freely attach the fortress. Try to use all your attacks and skills and the Phantom Rush during this period to deal maximum damage.
You will again have to ride the rails and dodge the pink energy balls. After this, you will again be able to attack the Fortress on the platform. At this point, inish off and beat fortress enemy in Sonic Frontiers.
