In Grow a Garden, Mutation is a special system that boosts a crop’s selling value using different multipliers.
Each mutation, like Ripe, Aurora, Bloodlit, Drenched, or Wet, can apply a similar or unique multiplier, depending on the type. These mutations can greatly increase your crop’s worth.
They are triggered by specific conditions such as weather changes, pet actions, tools, or random chances, and can even stack for bigger profits.
To calculate the final value of a mutated crop, the game uses this formula:
Total Price = Fruit Constant × Mass² × Growth Mutation × (1 + ∑Mutations − Number of Mutations)
In this guide, you’ll learn all about the Fried Mutation, including how it works, its multiplier effect, how to trigger it, and more.

The Fried Mutation in Grow a Garden gives an x8 multiplier when applied to a fully grown crop, meaning it boosts the crop’s base value 8 times.
Once applied, the crop appears crispy and golden-brown, like it’s been deep-fried, with a subtle sizzling effect and a faint smoky aura.
This mutation is triggered randomly during the Chicken Rain event, a special admin-triggered weather event, where any random crop can receive the Fried Mutation effect.
