How To Get & Use the Night Staff In Grow A Garden

The Night Staff is a special gear item added during the Lunar Glow Update. When used during the Night event, it gives the Moonlit Mutation to six random crops in your garden. These crops turn into Moonlit Fruits, which are more valuable.

Step To Get the Night Staff In Grow A Garden

Step 1: Join the Lunar Event

• This event runs for 2–4 weeks in May 2025.
• It’s part of the Lunar Glow Update.
• Your goal is to collect Lunar Points by trading Moonlit Fruits.

Step 2: Find the Wise Owl

• The Wise Owl NPC appears in the middle of the map.
• It replaces the Venus Flytrap during the event.
• This is where you’ll trade Moonlit Fruits.

Step 3: Get Moonlit Fruits

• Wait for the Night event (every few minutes).
• During this event, the sky turns dark, and a soft hum plays.
• Some crops will randomly become Moonlit (they glow).
• Harvest them by clicking or turning off auto-sell.

Step 4: Boost Your Moonlit Crop Chances

• Plant up to 800 crops to raise the chance of mutations.
• Use fast-growing crops like Tomatoes, Strawberries, or Blueberries.
• For better value, plant rare ones like:
  • Moon Blossom (2.5% chance from Night Packs)
  • Glowshroom (30% chance)
  • These sell for high prices (up to 70K Sheckles).

Step 5: Trade Moonlit Fruits

• Go back to the Wise Owl.
• Select “Take this plant” to trade one fruit at a time.
• Each gives you 1 or more Lunar Points, depending on the crop.
• Rare fruits = more points.

Step 6: Track Your Lunar Points

• Check the Reward Track by talking to the smaller owl next to the Wise Owl.
• Your goal: Get 40 Lunar Points to unlock the Night Staff.

Step 7: Claim the Night Staff

• Once you hit 40 points, go to the Reward Track.
• Claim your Night Staff — it gets added to your Backpack.

Steps to Use the Night Staff In Grow A Garden

Step 1: Equip the Night Staff

• Open your Backpack (top of the screen).
• Drag the Night Staff to your hotbar or select it directly.

Step 2: Place the Night Staff

• Left-click (PC) or tap (mobile) to place it anywhere in your garden.
• No special placement is needed.

Step 3: Let It Work During Night

• The Night Staff activates during the next Night event.
• It will turn 6 random crops into Moonlit Fruits.
• This effect happens once per Night event and can be used forever.

Step 4: Harvest Moonlit Fruits

• Wait for the next Night event.
• Find the glowing Moonlit crops.
• Harvest by clicking or use auto-collect (disable for favorited crops).

Step 5: Use or Sell Moonlit Fruits

• Trade with the Wise Owl for more Lunar Points.
• Or sell them for 2x value in the selling zone.
  • Example:
    • Moonlit Moon Blossom = 70,000 Sheckles
    • Moonlit Glowshroom = ~20,000 Sheckles

Step 6: Optimize Your Setup

• Use Sprinklers (from Sam’s Gear Shop) to increase mutation chances.
• Plant rare crops like Starfruit or Moon Blossom often.
• Combine effects like Rainbow + Moonlit for huge profits (1.75M Sheckles).
