Oblivion Remastered allows players to step into the world of Tamriel, where they must close dangerous magical gates called Oblivion Gates to save humanity.

The game revolves around a world under attack by evil creatures, with chaos spreading everywhere. Players can explore different cities, interact with people, fight monsters, join factions, use magic, and complete quests to progress.

This remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion features improved graphics and gameplay, with new content added.

In this article, we explain the complete process of where to sell stolen items in Oblivion Remastered.

Where to Sell Stolen Items in Oblivion Remastered

To sell stolen items in Oblivion Remastered, you need to find a “fence,” a special merchant who buys stolen goods. Fences are available only through the Thieves Guild.

Step 1: Join the Thieves Guild

  • Start “Finding the Thieves Guild” quest by talking to Simplicia the Slow (Imperial City Waterfront). Ask about the “Gray Fox.”
  • Pay 10 gold or persuade (Disposition 70+) for info.
  • Meet Armand Christophe at the Garden of Dareloth (Waterfront) at midnight.
  • Complete “May the Best Thief Win” by stealing Amantius Allectus’ diary and returning it to Armand.

Step 2: Access Fences

Fences unlock after joining the Thieves Guild, based on rank and quests.

Fences (locations and gold limits):

  • Ongar (Bruma): Right after joining.
    Gold: 200 (Novice), 600 (Journeyman)
  • Dar Jee (Leyawiin): After “Independent Thievery” (sell 50 gold worth of stolen goods).
    Gold: 400 (Apprentice), 800 (Journeyman)
  • Luciana Galena (Bravil): After “Ahdarji’s Heirloom.”
    Gold: 600 (Journeyman), 1,000 (Bandit)
  • Orrin (Anvil): After “The Elven Maiden.”
    Gold: 800 (Bandit), 1,200 (Prowler)
  • Fathis Ules (Imperial City): After “Arrow of Extrication.”
Gold: 1,000 (Prowler), 1,500 (Master Thief)

Best Early Fence: Ongar (Bruma, 200 gold, available immediately)

Step 3: Sell Stolen Items

  • Stolen items have a red hand icon.
  • Visit a fence (e.g., Ongar in Bruma) and choose “Barter” to sell.
  • Fences only buy stolen goods if you’re a Thieves Guild member.
  • Gold limit resets every 24 hours (wait/sleep).
  • Track “Fenced Goods” in the Journal to unlock better fences.

Tip: Sell high-value items (e.g., silverware from Castle Skingrad) to earn more.

Note: Don’t sell to regular merchants (e.g., Jensine in Imperial City) or they’ll report you, causing a bounty. If caught stealing, drop items before guards arrest you. Clear bounties via the Thieves Guild “Doyen” (e.g., Armand) for half the fine.
