There is a possibility you might find Pichu instead of Pikachu. If you find a Pichu, you just need to evolve it into Pikachu.

A Pichu will evolve into Pikachu when it has maximum happiness. To evolve Pichu into Pikachu you can have picnics and parties with it to increase its happiness.

How to find the Thunder stone

You need a thunder stone to evolve Pikachu into Raichu. There are a few different ways to get the Thunder stone. One of the ways to get a Thunder stone is to go to a Delibird store.

When you enter a Delibird store, you will see that you can buy a Thunder stone. It will cost you 3,000 and there is another condition. You should have beaten the three gyms. If you haven’t, you will not be able to buy the thunder stone.

You can also find Thunder stones in some places on the maps. Go east from the school grounds and then when you go north-east and go to the East Providence area 3, and just start exploring the grounds.

You will see some sparkly things on the ground. These treasures might give you a thunder stone.

Also, in West Providence area 1, west of the school grounds, there is a turbine. You can find thunder stone here as well. You can also go to Lavencia city into the east Paladean sea area.
