The Girl in the Window is the first horror-mystery escape adventure in the Hidden Town series by Dark Dome.
You play as Dan, who investigates a house that has been abandoned for 20 years following the mysterious murder of two siblings.
In this guide, you’ll find the exact puzzle solutions, logic, and item locations needed to progress through the game and solve each puzzle.
Phase 1: Explore the House & Find Tools
1. Entryway
- Check the gray coat and take Torn Paper #1.
- Take the Umbrella from the coat rack.
- Open the cabinet near the door and collect the Candle and Matches.
2. Living Room
- Go to the room with the brown sofa.
- Check the broken switchboard beside the sofa.
- Take the Square-Handle Key.
3. Vampire Portrait Room
- Check the plant in the lower-right corner.
- Take the Small Stone.
4. Bookshelf
- Open the gray notebook on the bookshelf.
- Take Torn Paper #2.
- Combine both torn papers in your inventory.
- Use the revealed 4-digit code on the drawer under the bookshelf.
- Take the Electrical Tape.
Phase 2: Restore Power & Watch the TV
1. Repair the Cable
- Find the mouse hole near the floor.
- Combine Matches + Candle to make a Lit Candle.
- Use it on the mouse hole to find the loose cable.
- Use the Umbrella to pull out the cable.
- Use Electrical Tape to repair it and restore power.
2. TV & VHS Puzzle
- Go to the TV room.
- Use the Square-Handle Key on the cupboard beside the TV.
- Take the VHS Cassette.
- Insert it into the VCR and turn on the TV.
- Watch the broadcast and note the symbol sequence.
Phase 3: Clock, Cross & Secret Room
1. Grandfather Clock
- Find the time clue somewhere in the house.
- Set the grandfather clock to that exact time.
- Open the lower compartment.
- Take the Small Key / Doll Part.
2. Symbol Cabinet
- Find the cabinet with the symbol dials.
- Enter the symbols shown on the TV.
- Take the Wooden Cross and other items inside.
3. Secret Passage
- Return to the Vampire Portrait room.
- Use the required item on the portrait mechanism.
- Place the Wooden Cross in the slot under the painting.
- The hidden passage opens, leading to the Attic.
Phase 4: Attic, Ritual & Escape
1. Attic
- Enter the dark attic.
- Use the Lit Candle on the wall sconce.
- Read Mia’s Diary.
- Collect the Ritual Doll and other ritual items.
2. Complete the Ritual
- Check the diagram in Mia’s Diary.
- Place the Ritual Doll, Mirror, Amulet, and Candles in the correct positions.
- Completing the ritual breaks the seal and reveals the Front Door Key.
3. Escape & Ending
- Take the Front Door Key.
- Go to the entrance and unlock the front door.
- Watch the ending scene and discover the connection to The Ghost Case.
