Windrose Gunpowder Recipe Guide
You unlock Gunpowder in Windrose through mid-game progression.
First, you need to complete key early-game quests and reach the Foothills area.
After that, unlock the Millstones workstation, which allows you to craft Gunpowder using Sulfur and Ash.
Below is a step-by-step guide to unlock it.
Step 1: Reach the Foothills
- Progress through the main story until you reach the Foothills region.
- Complete key quests (Rescuing the Crew / Revenge is Best Served Cold / I Need a Bigger Boat).
- Finish the jungle-arc boss (coastal-jungle stage) to unlock Gunpowder & Millstone recipes.
Step 2: Unlock the Millstone workstation
- Go to Foothills and collect Corn (wild plants).
- Open Workbench.
- Craft Millstone Parts (uses Corn + Stone).
- Place the Millstone in your base.
- Now ready to craft Gunpowder.
Step 3: Gather materials
- Gather Sulfur + Ash (Charcoal) to craft Gunpowder.
- Mine Sulfur in jungle nodes or Foothills rocks.
- Use an Iron Pickaxe or higher for Sulfur.
- Build a charcoal kiln from wood.
- Burn logs in the kiln to get Ash.
Step 4: Craft Gunpowder at the Millstone
- Go to your Millstone.
- Craft Gunpowder (Sulfur + Ash).
- Each batch gives multiple charges.
- Load Gunpowder + Bullets into your guns.
